Be Who You Were Born To Be

Do not rob yourself of the richer and broader passions of life and the sense of freedom that comes from stepping into your destiny. Rise up and be who you were born to be.

The Bible says man only dies once. There is no such thing as reincarnation, so don’t hold back! God can create another Shakespeare or Mozart.

God is waiting to see what you can do with this gift called life. Will you make your life count, not just for yourself but for others?

Scientists will tell you that the brain’s primary function is to keep you alive. But that is not a human being’s purpose. We are not created to merely survive life either. We are here to thrive. In case you haven’t figured it out, the reason we were created isn’t to find the best cup of coffee or the perfect mate or the dream job. It’s to experience unconditional love and grace with our Creator. Then give it away to others, allowing them to see a glimpse of our heavenly Father (Genesis 1:26–27; Acts 17:25–27).

Has there been a point in your life when you began losing your courage to take risks? Gave up on trying for that promotion, enrolling in graduate school, or starting a new business? Maybe you’ve settled into a life that is, at its best, safe but mundane—not showcasing your true talents and mirroring your real self-worth. Or maybe worse, you see yourself merely keeping ahead of the unseen monster lurking around each corner, robbing you of peace and joy. If this is the case, I would venture to guess there is something causing you to be stuck in the mindset of a survivor. There is a reason why you feel this way. You are suffering from a growing sense of lack—lack of well-being, courage, strength, prosperity, wealth, health, security. You name it. This growing sense of lack is behind millions of people’s complacency, apathy, and injustice thought program. It is a silent killer.

A sense of lack is the persistent feeling that something essential is missing from your life.

A growing sense of lack grows to epic proportions when we replay past events or attach to self-limiting thought programs, narratives, stories, and truths that are not true and not your truth. That is how we stay stuck.

What you can’t do, God can. Are you ready to get well? Ready to do your part? It takes both human and divine action. Prayer alone won’t cut it. You must do your part. Your part in this is committing to getting well. There is no magic pill. No quick fix. You must walk in faith, taking the first steps toward disenfranchising yourself from false belief systems. You do this by creating daily practices to use the moment an old, unhealthy thought pattern or habit comes up. What are some of those practices? (1) Talk to God regularly, confessing your fears, insecurities, and hopes, (2) write out positive, affirming mantras, (3) memorize Bible verses, and (4) bathe yourself in the Word of God by reading the Bible and listening to godly men and women on the radio or television.

These practices will assist you to shift your focus, mindset, words, and life out of the paradigm of suffering, injustice, and victimhood into victory. They will set you on the path of freedom to become who you were born to be and to realize your potential.

Do not rob yourself of the richer and broader passions of life and the sense of freedom that comes from stepping into your destiny. No one but you can take that first step toward your future.

It does not matter what circumstances you were born into or who your ancestors or parents were and are. They do not determine your destiny or your identity. That is because you choose who you want to become. As a Christian, your identity is in Christ.

“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you” (Ephesians 3:20 TPT).
